Tips, Tools and Techniques

Most of us thinking humans enjoy finding methods of doing what we do, even better than we have done, in the past. For that reason, if for no other, many of us enjoy and appreciate being able to identify anything that is standing in our way, keeping us from accomplishing all that we can, or being all that we can be. Most of us are quite receptive to finding ways to increase our possibilities for achieving success.

It is generally easier to accept positive effects as being the results of our choices, than it is to take a measure of responsibility for any shortfall. It is seldom pleasant to accept the idea that we, ourselves, might play a role, either large or small, in creating less than desirable results, or in not achieving high levels of success...even though the reward for honesty is often amazingly great.

Even if we are not fully aware of what might be “causing” one effect, or another, once we recognize a “stumbling block” of any kind, or even the possibility of a “block” being present, then the choice is ours, either to explore possibilities for seeking effective remedies and a more productive approach, or, to live with the consequences of inaction. Successfully addressing a shortcoming often leads to a change of habit. Good or bad and right or wrong are not at issue here, so we can put those questions aside, recognizing that experience, in its own good time, will make the differences clear.

Fulfilling a desire to succeed at being the very best we are capable of being, is always a worthwhile goal. Recognizing, acknowledging and breathing life into a heartfelt desire to achieve any lawful intention, as best we can, generally brings its own reward.

With that thought in mind, why not assume that anything that impedes the free flow of sensory data, (potential information collected by the senses), between the various working “parts” of a human body might be considered a “block”, which can affect the functioning of the device, itself? At the same time, why not recognize the obvious? A channel can be available without being in optimum operating condition. It may be that we are operating at less than optimum capacity to process and produce information, simply because we have not learned all the “tricks of the trade”.

block

Main Entry:

1 block Pronunciation: 'bläk Function: noun

2 a : OBSTACLE b : an obstruction of an opponent's play in sports; especially : a halting or impeding of the progress or movement of an opponent in football by use of the body c (1) : interruption of normal physiological function (as of a tissue or organ); especially : HEART BLOCK (2) : local anesthesia (as by injection) produced by interruption of the flow of impulses along a nerve d : interruption or cessation especially of train of thought by competing thoughts or psychological suppression

from Merriam Webster’s Online Dictionary (w/ emphasis added)

It pays to remember that apparent blocks to successful achievement of any personal goal can arise from an almost endless variety of experiences and/or conditions, both physical and nonphysical, even a lack of interest. An equally vast array of reasons may exist for choosing not to succeed to the highest possible degree. Some of these may rise to the level of conscious awareness, while many more may not. It might be wise to remember that a light source might be capable of shining more brightly than it does. Ever heard of a three-way bulb? Choices have lots of power...

Now back to the “blocks”... becoming aware of, and acknowledging the possibility of “blocks” being present in an individual human learning system is a primary step toward either overcoming possible obstacle(s), or in seeking effective ways to “counteract” or, to effectively “work within the confines” of any limitations of reality, itself. Identification applies a “name” to a person, place or thing, therefore allowing our “thinking/processing mechanism” to deal with it more easily and productively... even creatively. With this thought in mind could we agree that anything which impedes the flow of potential knowledge, or potential information, through a human, might be considered a “block” to the full functioning of that individual? Could we seek to identify and address the cause or nature of such interference, without making it sound like a disease of some kind?

The changing collection of Tips, Tools and Techniques featured herein has been gathered primarily from the internet by identifying other web sites containing material relating to the human learning process.  This collection is available, by password, as "Member Links to Learning Resources".  Generally speaking, our focus has been, and continues to be, on identifying methods others have found useful in personal development.  We have sought, and continue to seek, ways to facilitate the process. We have chosen to present various methods according to identifying characteristics generally considered to be “human”.  We have intentionally limited the number of categories to encourage users to explore the various sites with a more open mind. We acknowledge that the area of possible overlap is huge.  Experience has taught us that leading questions often direct seekers to desired answers.

The five categories listed below have been selected as being broad enough to encompass endless fields of thought, while being narrow enough to inspire extended exploration.

  1. Body - physical
  2. Mind - mental, intellectual
  3. Spirit - emotional/ intuitive
  4. Your call
  5. Parent/Teacher Resources - a growing collection of potentially-valuable, information-rich sites intended for the use of those mature individuals having the huge responsibility of providing healthful, non-harmful learning experiences for the young humans assigned to their care.

Obviously, one category pertains to visible aspects and conditions of humanhood, while two of the others deal with non-visible phenomena, naturally having less “documentable” or provable results. The references in the “unnamed” fourth category we will leave for you to classify, knowing that your experience and your own intuition will serve you well in making your choice(s).  The fifth speaks for itself.  In regard to this multi-faceted category, in particular, each user is reminded that online information, as well as the manner of its presentation, can change in an instant.  It is not possible for any reference source, such as LearnToSucceed.net, to provide total assurance that, when using the internet, less than desirable material will not be encountered from time to time.

All parent/teachers are encouraged to fully explore selected web sites, before referring them to the learners in their care.  Personally evaluating the nature, quality and substance of any and all web sites visited by your young students is highly recommended.  We invite you to help us to help you in your task of helping our world's children to "grow up healthy" in body, mind and spirit.

For our part, we make no claim that any method, or practice, will, or will not work for you, or for any other person, or that any methods, findings and evaluations by anyone, including ourselves, will have any particular value for any particular person, dealing with any particular challenge. It is not our intention to suggest or to imply that any approach or method will have specific results, or cause any particular change, in any direction, either toward being more or less successful at performing more or less effectively as a human.

We encourage you to explore. See what appeals to you. See what rings true for you and what doesn’t. Remember, we are all different and presumably exist here on the planet, Earth, for different purposes. Enjoy the process. Set your own goals. Expand your particular horizons as you desire, according to your personal timetable and schedule. Take time to explore your copy of L.E.A.R.N. To Succeed often. Listen to your inner voice, remembering that it is easier to hear when we are silent, than when we are speaking. Visit this site as often as you will. We encourage you to invite others to become Participants, for your own benefit as well as theirs.
